At ORO Salon, we pride ourselves in diversity. Tucked away right off the hustle of Union Square, you will find refuge at our salon on the second floor. Our corner location and floor to ceiling windows give you a look onto our beautiful city, while at peace with a glass of wine.
Our staff is a collection of the city's finest talent, and we pride ourselves on our ability to work together – whether it be color formulation, haircut ideas, or fashion advice, we make it a point that our clients feel at home while at ORO.
Founded by stylist Jarr Von Samuel, ORO was established to be part of the fabric of San Francisco’s rich history. “I wanted to create a space that is comfortable for everyone – clients and stylists alike. Having your hair done should be an experience that resonates with you for weeks and leaves you feeling empowered to take on the world!”
Our staff at ORO specializes in beautiful, everyday hair. We are experts in highlighting, Balayage and hair painting - From bold neon’s and pastels, to natural chestnut browns, reds, and bright blondes. Other specialties include keratin smoothing treatments, Brazilian Blowouts, extensions (sew in and Hot Heads), precision men's cuts, African American hair, and wedding styling. At ORO, we set the gold standard.
Jarr, founder and creative director of Oro Salon, has been in the industry since 2003. At an early age, Jarr was fascinated by the power of transformation in hair styling and decided to train under Tony & Guy and Vidal Sassoon. After working in Los Angeles for a few years, Jarr relocated to San Francisco where he built his diverse clientele of San Francisco’s finest. From perfecting blondes and enriching brunettes, to evolving styles into the latest trends, Jarr finds inspiration in the ever-changing city around him. Understanding that not everyone has a hairdresser at home, he offers advice to create looks that can be achieved on your own, but specializes in making sure you feel your sexiest when you leave the salon. Jarr is known for creating sexy, lived in texture that is timeless and effortlessly chic. He can be found behind the chair at Oro Wednesday through Saturday.

Aubrey has been doing hair since 2010. She loves having variety in her clientele and especially loves doing creative color and men’s haircuts. She finds inspiration in colors and texture found in nature, and is inspired by the city around her! In her free time, she likes to make art, see live music, and spend time with her Russian tortoise Danny Brown!
Senior stylist, Amanda Fitch, developed her skills at an early age. Blessed with a head of curls in the 90’s, when straight hair was the trend, she mastered the art of heat styling before flat irons were invented.
A licensed stylist licensed since 2003, Amanda began her career in Sacramento. Inspired by the energy and spirit of the city, she took her talent to San Francisco. Vidal Sassoon and Tony & Guy trained, and nicknamed “extension queen” at Oro, Amanda is consistently continuing her education of the newest styles, color trends and techniques. Her broad range of clientele includes men and women, all ages, lengths and textures. She is an expert in color mixology and a master with shears.
Amanda takes the time to get to know her clients so that she can truly understand how they want to look and feel. Her goal is to help her clients feel confident, not only with the hair they want, but with the hair they have.

Oribe Hair Care was founded by renowned editorial and celebrity hairstylist Oribe Canales with the goal of creating a new kind of hair company, one that was designed with the most talented salon professionals and the most discriminating customers in mind. When developing the line, we didn’t want to compromise on any detail. We leveraged skin care technology and natural actives to deliver high-performance, treatment-based products—all while never forgetting that healthy hair is the underpinning for sexy, glamorous styling. Each product has been tested at length on set, backstage and in the salon to ensure that it delivers results, leaving us with a best-in-class collection that truly meets the needs of the hair-obsessed.
R+Co is a collective of some of the most forward-thinking, rule-bending hairstylists in the business. We advocate for stylists—and their clients—to find the point of view and style that best matches their own. All of our products are treatment-oriented, with the health of the hair and scalp always top-of-mind. We use unique ingredients and complexes to make sure that each product delivers true benefits. And everything is formulated without parabens, sulfates (SLS or SLES), mineral oil and petrolatum. They are all vegetarian, cruelty-free, gluten-free and color-safe. R+Co is about an experience. The packaging and fragrances were designed to enhance that experience and evoke a feeling, place, style or attitude. You’ll know just by looking at a bottle or tube what a product is meant to do, and the subtle yet sophisticated fragrances—meant for both men and women—are as individual as the members of our collective. We work to reduce the amount of physical material used in our packaging by eliminating unnecessary components. A large majority of the retail packaging can be recycled; check with your local recycling center.

Every Thursday morning at ORO from 10AM to 12pm, we conduct training workshops taught by highly experienced educators and we need hair models for the apprentices to refine and develop their craft.
This means you only have to pay a small fee to receive an amazing cut/color service overseen by our educators every step of the way. This is a great way apprentices can expand their knowledge to become highly trained creative professionals.
During your visit you will receive a full consultation, styling suggestions and product recommendations to create a salon perfect look at home. Services are performed in a teaching environment, so your cut/color will take approximately twice as long as a regular appointment. Please allow for extra time.
We believe the only path to a rewarding career as a successful stylist is through continuous advanced education in the industry.
We are currently looking for all haircut models; from long layers to above the shoulders, lobs, pixie's or shorter. Also color models of all kinds, aside from full color corrections.
Haircut Model $20
Color/Highlight Model $30
Please fill out and submit our model form and we will get back to you shortly!
Please feel free to email us a photo of your current hair along with a photo of the style you would like to achieve after submitting this form.
